Erica

My art is a reflection of my desire to slow down and capture the softer, more contemplative aspects of life. The processes that I use are guided by light or water, and I draw inspiration from the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which embraces imperfection and transience.

I create peaceful art daily using historical processes like cyanotype, suminagashi, polaroid and pinhole photography. In my creative process, I combine these techniques with embroidery to create a soft, tactile world that invites the viewer to slow down and experience the moment.

At the heart of my work are the exploration of my own inner struggles, thoughts, and emotions. By visualizing these abstract concepts through my art, I hope to make them more understandable and relatable to others. Through my use of historical processes and embroidery, I aim to create a sense of intimacy and connection with the viewer, inviting them to share in the emotions and experiences that inspire my work.

By embracing the imperfections of life and celebrating the beauty of the moment, I hope to inspire you to do the same.
